A Bit About Me
After 10+ years of running a successful Internal Medicine private practice in San Francisco while maintaining a Clinical Faculty appointment at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), I made the decision to move to "industry".
Initially hired at GSK to help the company understand the new world of HMOs and "the delegated model", I spend the next 10 years and GSK and at Genentech engaged with US Payers, Physician Groups, and Pharmacy Benefit Managers. I worked with the team responsible for generating evidence to support the pharmacoeconomic value of the company's product portfolios and engaging US external stakeholders in order to achieve optimal, appropriate patient access for a broad portfolio of marketed products.
While at Genentech, I made the transition to a more traditional Medical Director role, leading Medical Affairs Teams responsible for a number of different products, new indications and launches. Working on the Genentech/Roche pipeline afforded me the opportunity to work in the "Rare Disease" space, including Hemlibra for hemophilia A, and led me to future roles at BioMarin and Spark Therapeutics working on gene therapies for hemophilia.
I have found my niche working in Medical Affairs in the Rare Disease space over the past 10 years. Nothing else provides the combination of bringing cutting edge advances in science to address truly unmet medical needs in patients living with genetic conditions that greatly impact morbidity, mortality and quality of life. In Medical Affairs, we are not only charged with being accountable for ensuring all activities are "fair balanced" and based on clinically meaningful data - we are also charged with making sure that the patient is at the center of everything that we do. As a physician and clinician first and foremost, this is critically important to me.

Let me and the resources available through Prestige Biotech assist you on delivering the promise of new therapies to the patients that you aim to serve!
